# Layouts

#### Create custom responsive layouts

The Any2info designer tools offer functionality to build **responsive applications** (docking, scaling, etc.) for desktop and/or native app, mostly with one design.&#x20;

**In order to be able to tailor applications even more, the option “layouts” is available.** The screen design (including all data links) can be quickly and easily repositioned on a newly created layout that is optimized for use on desktop (including portals), tablet or smartphone.&#x20;

Based on the available layout(s), the application (app or web app) will automatically show the appropriate screen.

#### Error message by using layouts

If layouts are created without controls from the original root, in which events or links have been set up, an error message will appear above the canvas. See image below.
